About VirtuoMed Connect
Growing up in Germany as part of a Turkish immigrant family, I was inspired early on by the country’s high standards in engineering and medicine. My passion for technology led me into the IT sector, where I pursued a path shaped by curiosity and innovation.
This path eventually brought me into the healthcare industry, where I had the opportunity to work within the IT department of a leading medical service provider. In this environment, I gained cross-functional insights and developed a broad understanding of healthcare operations and strategic processes.
Over time, I became increasingly interested in how technological solutions could contribute to more effective, adaptable healthcare systems. I also came to appreciate the complexity and resilience of healthcare structures – characteristics that, while essential for ensuring stability, can make transformation particularly challenging. Rather than seeing this as a barrier, I viewed it as an invitation to build bridges across disciplines and systems.
This perspective led to the creation of VirtuoMed Connect: a platform designed to foster collaboration, enable knowledge exchange, and support sustainable innovation in healthcare.
Our Mission
At VirtuoMed Connect, our mission is to create a collaborative space where diverse actors can come together to drive meaningful innovation in healthcare. To realize this vision, we concentrate on three core areas:
1. Building a Collaborative Ecosystem
We cultivate a dynamic network that connects startups, healthcare institutions, technology providers, and research organizations. Rather than offering predefined solutions, we nurture synergies through open dialogue and strategic partnership-building. This foundation helps generate practical, scalable responses to real-world healthcare needs.

Ongoing learning is vital to progress. We support our partners by facilitating the exchange of expertise across multiple formats and platforms. By fostering a culture of learning and reflection, we help empower stakeholders to navigate complexity and adapt to evolving challenges.

Our journey began with a focus on fostering meaningful collaboration between healthcare systems in Southern Africa and Germany. By initiating dialogue and building bridges between institutions, we laid the groundwork for long-term partnerships based on trust, transparency, and shared goals.
Through early pilot initiatives, we’ve gained valuable insights into local healthcare dynamics and regional priorities. These learnings continue to shape our approach as we expand our network and deepen cooperation with a growing number of stakeholders – including hospitals, technology providers, and public health entities.
Looking ahead, VirtuoMed Connect is committed to scaling its collaborative model across additional regions. Rather than imposing external solutions, we work hand in hand with local actors to co-develop strategies that are context-specific, scalable, and impactful.

Our collaboration with AxessHealth, a prominent South African healthcare network, aims to understand regional needs and attract key stakeholders to our joint ventures.
